KAIT Graduate Student Receives IEEE Student Travel Award at International Conference
A first-year master's student in the Course of Information and Computer Sciencers at Kanagawa Institute of Technology (KAIT), Kaede Shitara, has been honored with the IEEE Education Society Student Travel Award at the IEEE International Conference on Teaching, Assessment and Learning for Engineering (TALE 2025) held in December 2025.
Under the guidance of Professor Kosuke Takano in the Takano Laboratory, Shitara has been conducting research on “Intimacy-Aware Peer AI”, a system designed to foster collaborative learning by enabling students and AI to build close, interactive relationships and “learn together.” This innovative approach to classroom support was highly recognized by the conference committee, leading to this prestigious award.
