Graduate School of EngineeringCourse of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
International students can also apply.
Electrical and electronic technologies hold the critical role of forming the foundation for virtually all fields of industry. They include energy, control, materials, semiconductor components, optoelectronics, information processing communications systems, and home electronics, etc.—covering a vast array of fields. All continue to grow dramatically to this day.
This course takes a flexible approach to changes in all of these technologies, and it is the goal of our education and research to impact foundation skills to our students, enabling them to take a broad perspective of the issues and to grasp the “big picture.” To achieve this, our curriculum focuses on electric power engineering, electronic property engineering, information and communications engineering, and electronics engineering. Our research focuses on cutting-edge themes that we present at academic meetings. We also collaborate with external institutions including corporation, which serves to enhance our educational and training environment by rendering it hands-on and practical.
Electric power engineering
Electric power systems, which represent one of mankind’s largest systems, focus on safety as well as efficiency of operations. This sector is also closely linked with environmental issues including natural energy use. Training and research topics in this field include numerous important topics such as energy applications, natural energy generation, the high voltage phenomenon, electromagnetic environment, etc.
Electronic property engineering
Optical and semiconductor technologies are amongst the key technologies in support of modern information-based societies. As more and broader applications are expected in the future, we are conducting research and training in the basics of electric devices, foundations of optical and quantum devices, applied research, new electronic parts based in this research, ultra-LSI, nanotechnology research, and more.
Information and communications engineering
Information and communications represent critical technologies in the sophisticated information society. In addition, as even larger developments are now foreseen, we are educating and training the next generation of pioneers. To this end we are conducting research and training in circuits and systems; remote network control; elements, circuits, and evaluation methods related to electromagnetic waves and increasingly sophisticated light wave communications technologies, image information processing, etc.
Electronics engineering
In this course, training and research are conducted in the area of home electronics pertaining to the creation of comfortable living spaces, specifically HEMS, smart grid, and network technologies, as well as robot control technologies, home devices and services using laser display technologies and combined technologies.
