Professor Atsushi Sawai Appointed Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Microorganism Control

As of June 2025, Professor Atsushi Sawai of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Kanagawa Institute of Technology has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Microorganism Control, the official English-language academic journal of the Society for Antibacterial and Antifungal Agents, Japan.

This journal serves as an international platform for disseminating research findings on microbial control technologies across a wide range of fields, including food, healthcare, environment, and materials science.

Professor Sawai has long been engaged in research on natural antimicrobial substances and the control of pathogenic microorganisms in food. His appointment is expected to further advance the journal’s mission, which emphasizes both practical application and global relevance.
