Agreement with Kanagawa Prefectural Sagami Koyokan High School

Kanagawa Institute of Technology Signs Educational Exchange Agreement with Kanagawa Prefectural Sagami Koyokan High School

On August 28, 2025, Kanagawa Institute of Technology held a signing ceremony to formalize an educational exchange agreement with Kanagawa Prefectural Sagami Koyokan High School.

During the ceremony, Mr. Kazuyuki Uchida, Principal of Sagami Koyokan High School, and Dr. Tetsuri Inoue, President of Kanagawa Institute of Technology, signed the agreement and exchanged views on future collaborative initiatives.

Principal Uchida remarked, “Our school is the first stand-alone part-time public high school in Kanagawa Prefecture. We operate a dual daytime system with morning and afternoon sessions, aiming for students to graduate in four years. Since our establishment in 2010, we have practiced inclusive education that respects diversity and values each individual student. A notable feature of our school is the large number of students with international backgrounds. I hope this agreement will serve as a foundation for supporting our diverse student body.”

President Inoue commented, “Our university was founded in 1963 with the mission of developing human resources to support Japan’s industrial growth. As society has evolved, so too have the types of professionals needed, and our university has adapted accordingly. Today, high school education is also increasingly diverse. Even in our Faculty of Engineering, not all students have studied physics in high school. We welcome students with a wide range of backgrounds and interests. I hope this partnership will lead to a strong and lasting relationship.”
