Visit to Kanagawa Institute of Technology Smart House Research Center (September 22, 2025)
On Monday, September 22, 2025, Dr. Sukumal from Kasetsart University and Dr. Kalika from the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) of Thailand visited Kanagawa Institute of Technology, accompanied by Mr. Umeshima, Convenor of the IEC Systems Committee (in charge of Smart Energy Development Planning).
Dr. Sukumal and Dr. Kalika are experts in ICT and cybersecurity in Thailand, while Mr. Umeshima is actively involved in cybersecurity measures for energy devices and collaborates with the university’s Smart House Research Center.
During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call to President Inoue, and engaged in discussions on:
- Cybersecurity measures and current initiatives related to IoT devices in Thailand
- Japan’s efforts in cybersecurity within the energy management domain
The visit also included a tour of the Smart House Research Center’s facilities, where a demonstration using the ECHONET Lite SDK (Software Development Kit) developed and released by the center was conducted. The guests expressed interest in exploring the use of ECHONET Lite technology in Thailand in the future.
The Smart House Research Center will continue to promote the international adoption of ECHONET Lite technology through ongoing outreach and collaboration.
