BSMI staff from Taiwan visited KAIT

On Tuesday, Oct. 1st, Mr. Lin of the BSMI, Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection Ministry of Economic Affairs, BSMI, Taiwan, and three others visited KAIT. BSMI Taiwan is what Japan refers to as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the bureau in charge of standards-related matters. In addition to a courtesy visit to Principal Komiya, the group toured the ECHONET Lite test facility at the Smart House Research Center and had discussions and exchanged opinions with members of the ECHONET Consortium, the ECHONET Lite standard-setting organization.

During the discussion, the participants discussed issues and the way forward for promoting inter-device linkage between CNS 16014, TaiSEIA 101, the standard communication specification for smart home devices currently being promoted in Taiwan, and ECHONET Lite, the international standard communication specification for smart houses recommended as a standard in Japan.
