"SDGs x Science Experiments Classroom"

Professor Takamura of the Faculty of Engineering conducts "SDGs x Science Experiments Classroom" in collaboration with companies.

On Dec. 26th and 27th, 2022 and Jan. 5th, 2023, the "SDGs x Science Experiment Classroom" was held for elementary school students at after-school children's clubs in Kanagawa Prefecture, with Professor Takeji Takamura of the university's Faculty of Engineering serving as the instructor.

The "SDGs x Science Experiment Classroom" is a collaborative project between the University and Ashitaba Corporation, which is registered as a Kanagawa Prefecture "Kanagawa SDGs Partner," and the lecture with Professor Takamura was made possible this time. This course allowed children during winter break to learn about the importance of the environment and energy through science experiments and to experience SDG issues, and children experienced experiments in making a "lemon battery" to listen to sounds and a "fuel cell" using a pencil.

The after-school children's clubs that have implemented the program are as follows.

After School Kids Club of Yokohama City Hino Elementary School
After School Kids Club of Odawara City Soga Elementary School
After School Kids Club of Odawara City Hayakawa
After School Kids Club of Yokohama City Ibukino Elementary School
※All of them are run by Ashitaba Corporation
