Prof. Hiroshi Tanaka, Department of Information and Computer Sciences, received the “36th Radio Engineering & Electronics Association Award”.

This award is presented annually by the Association of Radio Engineering & Electronics Association to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion and development of technology related to the use of radio waves for communications, broadcasting, and other purposes.

For "Contribution to the Development and Popularization of Multimedia Satellite Communication Systems," the award recognizes the development of a satellite tracking antenna and the realization and popularization of a system that provides high-speed communication services for mobile devices using satellite links.
