Professor Inoue was invited to a reception by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany

Specially Appointed Professor Hideo Inoue was invited to a reception hosted by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and his wife

On Wednesday, Nov. 2nd, Professor Hideo Inoue, Director of the Institute for Advanced Vehicle Research Institute, was invited to attend a reception at the German Embassy in Tokyo which was hosted by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Federal Republic of Germany and his wife.

The invitation followed Director Prof. Dr. Shieferdecker's visit to the University on Oct. 27th in recognition of the Japan-Germany collaboration project VIVID.

The reception was attended by approximately 200 German officials and 100 Japanese invitees.

The Japanese attendees included Hiroyuki Hosoda, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and others. Following the greeting from the German President, Hiroyuki Hosoda, Speaker of the House of Representatives, gave a speech of goodwill between Japan and Germany.

Specially Appointed Professor Hideo Inoue commented that “it was a wonderful and encouraging reception where we had a chance to meet the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and his wife, the officials of the two countries, and also to have a pleasant conversation with researchers in different fields at a buffet table.”
