The 8th KODAI Summit to Be Held on November 29
On Saturday, November 29, 2025, nine private science and technology universities from across Japan—including Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Aichi Institute of Technology, Osaka Institute of Technology, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tohoku Institute of Technology, Hiroshima Institute of Technology, Fukui University of Technology, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, and Hokkaido University of Science (listed in Japanese syllabary order)—will convene for the 8th KODAI Summit, with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and other organizations.
The KODAI Summit was established in March 2017 with the shared mission of nurturing human resources to support Japan’s industrial foundation. In an increasingly borderless world, the summit aims to foster innovation and develop talent capable of thriving in global environments. Through the sharing of human and material resources and mutual collaboration, the summit seeks to further invigorate higher education in science and engineering.
While last year’s summit was hosted by Kanagawa Institute of Technology, this year’s event will take place at Fukui University of Technology. The summit will serve as a platform for students, faculty, and staff to actively exchange ideas and engage in discussions on the roles and responsibilities of science and technology universities. Through research presentations and case studies addressing regional challenges—particularly in the fields of digital technology, environmental sustainability, and health—the summit will explore how these institutions can contribute to society and foster the next generation of innovators.
