Visiting professor Yamamoto in the Course of Mechanical Systems Engineering, received the 2024 Division Achievement Award* from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Transportation and Logistics Division at the 33rd Transportation and Logistics Division Conference, TRANSLOG2024, held on Thursday, Nov. 28th, at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo. Commemorative lectures were given on the awarding ceremony and on the subject of “Consideration of Vehicle Characteristics and Dynamic Performance of Electric Vehicles.” For 40 years since his career at Toyota Motor Corporation, Professor Yamamoto has devoted himself to the research and development of automobile dynamics, and has made significant contributions to the improvement of automobile safety and comfort through the development of practical motion theory, the development of motion control systems, the construction of motion performance development processes, and the development of new platforms. In addition, as part of his human resource development and educational activities, he continues to teach Automotive Dynamics at the University of Tokyo and at workshops of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
