The 6th University of Technology Summit will be held on Nov. 25th

On Saturday, Nov. 25th, nine private universities of technology in Japan, Aichi Institute of Technology, Osaka Institute of Technology, Kanagawa Institute of Technology, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tohoku Institute of Technology, Hiroshima Institute of Technology, Fukui University of Technology, Fukuoka Institute of Technology, and Hokkaido University of Science will hold the 6th University of Technology Summit, which is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

The Summit was established in Mar. 2017 to share information on human and material resources of each university and to further revitalize science and engineering higher education through mutual collaboration and cooperation. It is based on the mission as a science and engineering university to develop human resources to support an industrial nation and share the common challenges to develop human resources who can create innovation and work in a global environment in an increasingly borderless world.

The Tohoku Institute of Technology will serve as the venue for this year's conference, which will once again focus on the role of technical universities in disaster prevention, disaster mitigation, and reconstruction in Tohoku, a region that has made great strides in reconstruction following the Great East Japan Earthquake. In addition, it will provide an opportunity for students and faculty members to share their views on the development of human resources in science and engineering field who will support society 5.0 and beyond through active exchanges of ideas and opinions, and to communicate these views to society. President Kazumi Komiya will be a panelist from KAIT.

Participants: University faculty, business stake holders, high school educators and those related, teachers and students, and others interested in science and engineering education.
