Symposium 2022 on IT-based Education and Research

“Symposium 2022on IT-based Education and Research” was held on Mar. 10th

This year, the 17th annual event, was the first time to hold a high-flex event. Over 110 people from inside and outside of the university attended the live streaming of the face-to-face lecture from the 5th floor of the K3 building at the university.

In his opening remarks, President Kazumi Komiya explained recent trends in the IT field and the university's efforts to promote IT education and research as part of the "Aiming to be an Advanced IT University".

Next, Mr. Toshiharu Kano of Kyoto Seika University gave a keynote speech titled ""Information I" and the use of one information device per student in high schools leading to university education"". He spoke based on his experience as a subject researcher engaged in setting up the  curriculum guidelines for the high school  "Information I" and "Information II" course, and introduced examples of ICT applications in junior high and high schools.

In the general sessions, 32 presentations were made in seven sessions, one of which was video-streamed exclusively on YouTube. There were reports on various educational research projects that the university is working on using IT, including online classes, AI education, and system development on which lively discussions took place.

Finally, we would like to thank all those who participated in this symposium as well as those who cooperated in various fields.
